OUR STORY 
In 1901, the Simeone family opened its first cafe at 429 Glasgow Road near Yoker Athletic's football ground.
Their second cafe was the Empire, which opened at 147 Glasgow Road in 1910. It was located in a wooden building that had been the Clydebank Co-operative Society's smiddy, built on ground rented from the London & North Eastern Railway Co. The wooden building was replaced with a more substantial brick building in the 1920s and demolished in the late 1970s during the widening of Glasgow Road.
After trading Simeone’s cafe to the second-generation, son Roberto Simeone married into the Celino family and they decided to enter the fish and chip trade.
They worked in Partick (Gardner Street) teaching the next generation, which included their son, Mario about the fish and chip trade. Mario worked in Dumbarton before opening Mario's Plaice on Byres Road in 2008
Now in 2020, as Mario’s children (Santino, Cristina, Riccardo and Marco) followed in their ancestor’s footsteps, the chip shop and cafe was renamed Simeone’s.
Simeone’s is at heart a "traditional" fish and chip shop serving classic favourites such as Mac & Cheese, steak pie, and breakfasts in a modern-day setting.
